Inspired by shapes in nature, such as nebula, satellite images, and microbiology, you will create paintings using the fluidity of movement inherent in liquid. Much of the appearance of the natural world derives from the behavioral properties of fluid or plastic matter in conjunction with natural forces, including gravity, capillary action, and interaction between liquids of varying viscosities. These are the tools that you will learn to use. Ink and/or liquid paint is poured on a surface, and you will see and learn new techniques as the paint is adjusted or removed. The dried painting arrests the moment in time.
